On most buying trips, we work almost non stop! It makes for a lot of driving and not much sightseeing, while this is definitely efficient for our buying purposes it does not always satisfy the traveler in both of us! If you have been checking out our Instagram feed you’ll see some of the fabulous places in London we were able to explore! We visited Liberty, which is just a stunning shopping experience in a beautiful old English building, luxurious charm oozing from every last space in the building. We spent Saturday exploring the Portabello Road in Notting Hill. They’ve always been known for their antique and flea markets on Saturdays and we hadn’t been able to make it before, it was quite the experience! Throngs of people flow up and down Portabello, some there for the novelty of a photo with The Travel Book Shop from the film, others on the hunt for a deal!
On our last day in London we visited Sketch, the most instagram worthy restaurant in all of the UK... It was such fun to experience the fabulously designed rooms, including their space pod bathroom!
Margaret and I continued on to the Saatchi Gallery for a little jaunt before we met up with our friends from Fickle International (based in Fredericksburg,Texas) to take a classic bus tour of the city with a little wist- Prosecco & afternoon tea are served through the duration of the ride.
We had a real blast visiting some of the places we’ve been yearning to visit but haven’t had the time for on the last few trips. It left us feeling incredibly inspired for our buying trip! We started our shopping in Tetbury and have zig-zagged all over the country since then.
A main component to our choices this trip, regardless of the medium, is animals. We crafted a really unique menagerie collection. Not only are their great cast stone pieces, ready to watch over your garden, but we have also found some fabulous brass animal accessories that have so much character. Incorporating natural themes into a design setting can often feel intimidating, if you are able to identify a pattern, personality, or color that you associate with the serenity of natural beauty, your space can really be elevated by this injection of personality.
Our personal favorites? We tend to lean towards bird motifs, frog princes and unicorns. But if your spirit animal is a squirrel, you are in luck. A lion, absolutely! Margaret loves finding the cutest animals with the best faces, this is often a major topic of discussion while we are on the road.
We are still going to keep a lot of our new inventory to ourselves, until it arrives at our storage space, but feel free to reach out if you would like a heads up when the pieces will be available for the public. As long as your subscribed to this email, you shall be the first to know!
